hey, its josy

Josy is a New York City-based photographer whose vibrant, storytelling approach to fashion editorials and portraiture reflects both his roots and his vision. Born and raised in the heart of New York, Josy comes from a Puerto Rican family that was as full of challenges as it was rich in resilience. Growing up in a dysfunctional household, he found empowerment in the strong, fierce women who raised him—women who taught him the power of self-expression, strength, and beauty, even in the face of adversity.

His photography, much like his life, is a celebration of contrast and color, mixing the raw energy of his upbringing with the polished precision of high fashion. Josy has an innate ability to capture not just the external beauty of his subjects—whether they’re models, celebrities, or rising stars—but also the emotion and soul behind each expression. His work speaks to his belief that everyone has a unique story to tell, and he brings that story to life through every shot, creating images that are as bold, authentic, and empowering as he is.

Josy’s signature style is a fusion of playful energy and sophisticated elegance, with a heavy emphasis on vivid color and dramatic lighting. His portraits and editorials exude personality, blending art with a realness that resonates deeply with his subjects and audience alike. Photography, for Josy, is more than just a profession—it’s a way to honor the strength of the women who raised him and to capture the stories of those who dare to step into their own light.

He is a Fashion and Editorial Photographer and Creative Director based in New York City. Inspired by the art of storytelling & the beauty of personality and emotion, his versatility and diversity have gained attention from names such as: Bella Thorne, Pierre Bourne, Christian Cowan, Sheron Barber & more.
